PRACTICE GRATITUDE

We have come to Thanksgiving: a time when it is en vogue to focus on gratitude. But what happens during the rest of the year when life keeps going, the holiday season becomes overwhelming, or post-holiday winter blues set in? This is when gratitude truly becomes a practice.

Studies indicate a regular gratitude practice can positively change your mindset, and I am happy to say that I have seen it in action. Your next question may be “How do I practice gratitude?”

One simple way is to take a minute or two during your bedtime routine to acknowledge three things that occurred during the day you are grateful for. If you are looking to take your practice further, begin your day with gratitude for three things that you have scheduled or planned for the day. At the end of the day, take notice of how your day was impacted by your gratitude, and any identify additional moments or happenings you are thankful for. There are certainly many other ways to practice gratitude. Whatever you choose, the key is consistency.

Start your gratitude practice today. Change your day. Change your mindset. Change your life.
